The Regina stadium debate continues to generate more questions than answers. I've had a number of people ask me for an opionion. The short answer is...I don't have one.
I need to know the following:
-What Saskatchewan corporations are contributing, and for what percentage of the entire project?
-Is the City of Regina paying for day to day operations? (The City of Saskatoon pays to operate Credit Union Centre and the SHAW Centre. The City of Regina should pay for day to day operations of a new facility.)
Give me the answers to those questions, and I'll give you an answere on whether this is something the province should pursue.

The topic of head shots in the NHL is front and centre again. Boston's Marc Savard left on a stretcher Sunday after being hit by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke. Once again, bullet proof plastic padding has made contact with a skull. The NHL GMs will again discuss head shots at meetings this week. One thing is for sure....players can not police this game themselves. GM's need to decide if they are OK with these hits or if they are going to once and for all prevent them by giving stiffer suspensions and by replacing plastic with padding. If they aren't going to do anything about it, then they should stop talking about it.

I've been thinking about something the late Bill Hunter said to me a few years ago when I asked him about entering politics....."It's A Dirty Game". I've heard his voice ring in my head on two seperate occasions already this year. It led me to ask these two questions:
In February, how did the Prime Minister and Premier suddenly get added to the program of an already sold out Kinsmen Celebrity Sports Dinner in Saskatoon featuring Wayne Gretzky?
Why was NDP leader Jack Layton within camera range in an Ontario bar during the Canada/USA Gold Medal final at the Olympics?
Politicians struggle to be seen and heard sometimes, I guess.

Congratulations to my good friend Ian Roach. He was the producer of Telemiracle this past weeekend. It was another terrific event with $4 million raised.

Thanks to "Shack" of Rock 102. He came to the house and cooked a wonderful meal for five of us for my wife's birthday on Saturday. He should really be a part time chef or teach people how to cook. One of his passions is food. It was great.
