March, 2010
After three seasons of Eric Tillman as the General Manager, Rider fans had to get used to waving goodbye to veterans and relying on the next best thing to step up.
With Jackie Mitchell and Reggie Hunt out the door, the Riders turned to Maurice Lloyd and Anton McKenzie (younger, cheaper replacements) who didn’t miss a beat. Behind Lloyd and McKenzie, Tillman picked up Renauld Williams (an NFL castoff), Sam Olajubutu, and they spent the year on the practice roster.
OK, whats the plan?!?!
With the trade of Dalton Bell to the Toronto Argonauts, that leaves the Roughriders with three quarterbacks.
Darian Durant, Graham Harrell and Cole Bergquist.
The latter two have never attended a CFL training camp but spent most of last season watching Durant, Jyles and Bell during practice.
So is the Rider brass comfortable going into camp with this scenario or is there one more big move to come?
Because there is one big name and popular quarterback available.
