The season continues and the Premier of Saskatchewan, Brad Wall, continues to lead the pack for Premier's Picks (heard every Wednesday at 6:05 on Sports Night).
Here are the picks for Week 5.
Premier Brad Wall (10-6) - Montreal - Edmonton - Saskatchewan - Calgary
Drew Remenda (8-8) - Montreal - B.C. - Saskatchewan - Calgary
Jamie Nye (8-8) - Montreal - Edmonton - Saskatchewan - Winnipeg
Last week's winner was Tom, who picked Montreal, Toronto and Winnipeg correctly but 3/4 was enough to lead the pack.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders Jim Hopson would have never pulled a stunt like his counterpart in Edmonton did, yesterday.
Rick LeLacheur was made available to the media and before taking a question called his team embarrassing, a failure, and called the performance of the Eskimo coaches, management and players unacceptable.
The role of a president and CEO is to keep a calm head in good times and in bad.
Well the Canadian Football League has a race in the East and a race in the West for first place and is power starting to shift out East?
Team Power Rankings
1. Montreal Alouettes (Last Week - 2) - The Montreal Alouettes went 2-1 on a three game road trip in Western Canada and when they get back home they lay the boots to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Anthony Calvillo is starting to find a groove and is spreading the ball around. This week, they have the Toronto Argonauts at home in a battle for first in the East. Montreal's defence looked much better in Week 4.
Premier's Picks
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall is showing off his football knowledge after his third straight week picking three of four CFL games correctly and leads the way going into four weeks. By the way, I suck at this.
Premier Brad Wall (9-3) - HAM - BC - WPG - SSK
Drew Remenda (8-4) - HAM - BC - EDM - SSK
Jamie Nye (4-8) - MTL - TOR - EDM - SSK
Games this week: Thurs. Hamilton (1-2) @ Montreal (2-1), Fri. B.C. (1-2) @ Toronto (2-1), Sat. Edmonton (0-3) @ Winnipeg (1-2), Sat. Saskatchewan (3-0) @ Calgary (2-1)
Team Power Rankings
1. Saskatchewan Roughriders (Last Week - 1) - The Roughriders struggled in week three but pulled out a 24-20 win with 11 unanswered points in the fourth quarter against the Edmonton Eskimos. Not as impressive an outing for the offense after putting up 91 points in two weeks but the defense of the Roughriders have allowed only 38 points over the last two games, which shows they've got two of three phases of the game going. Now the special teams needs to complete the trifecta.
