Well known Saskatoon educator Wayne Dyck, a cancer survivor and all around good-guy is setting out from Victoria tomorrow morning to ride his bike across the country. He is raising money for the Childrens Hospital in Saskatoon and hopes to be in St. Johns Newfoundland just over two months from now, around July 10th. With the Iceland volcanic eruption cancelling thousands of flights in and out of Europe, you may be curious as to why the airlines are reluctant to fly through the massive dust cloud. Here is a great story about a British Airways flight in the 80's that taught the industry a lot about the dangers.

MMMMM...these look good. They are called Mini-Ice Cream Cookies...a creation of Sue Compton, a woman from New Jersey. Her recipe won the 44th annual Pillsbury Bake-Off and a cheque for a cool $1 million. I'm open to be a sampler if you decide to make them.

This story from England got me thinking about all those small appliances people use for years...do you have one?
