Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan received a $510,000 donation to it’s Staging the Future Capital Campaign Friday night from the champaign’s co-chair.
Jerry Grandey contributed the money to help with plans to upgrade the stage and tent area on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River, to make it accessible year-round and to modernize the site.
In a release from the theatre company, it said the gift is a tremendous lift to the campaign which it anticipates would inspire other people to donate.
The Staging the Future Capital Campaign has a fundraising goal of $3-million to transform the site in time for the 2020 season.
