The Calgary Stampeders have added some intrigue to November football with the CFL playoffs right around the corner.
Calgary has lost two of its last three games going in to the final weekend of the regular season.
The Stampeders can be beaten, but any playoff victory over Calgary would still have to be considered an upset for three reasons:
- Calgary has an incredible 57-12 and 2 in regular season play dating back to 2014.
- In the last three playoff runs, there have been two Grey Cup appearances and one championship.
- The Stampeders will have a bye after this weekend’s regular season finale against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before hosting the west final.
The beauty of the CFL – and football for that matter – is, as the saying goes, on any given Sunday there can be an upset.
Having said that, anyone who faces Calgary in the west final should be considered a huge underdog.
