Regina police want the public to know they can expect to see them out this weekend.
The Regina Police Service, along with officers from other services across the province, will run high-visibility check stops throughout the year, with the first being done this weekend.
The check stops will be done to help curb and catch impaired drivers.
Police said by increasing their presence on the roads, they can prevent drunk driving and help change the public perception of impaired driving.
The RPS said check stops also give officers a way to interact with the community.
