A workplace injury has resulted in fines for Mosaic’s Colonsay potash operation.
Mosaic Potash Colonsay was charged under provincial mining regulations after a worker’s leg was crushed in a conveyer in February 2014.
The company pleaded guilty Tuesday in Saskatoon Provincial Court to failing to ensure all equipment in the mine was installed, operated and maintained safely.
According to a release from the province, a judge imposed a total of $85,400 in fines and surcharges.
