A blaze broke out in the Travellers Building on Broad Street around 9:55 p.m. Tuesday night.
Regina Fire and Protective Services responded with at least five fire trucks to fight the flames.
From the start of the fire, wind was gusting up anywhere from 50km to 70km as per Environment Canada.
This is one of Regina’s municipal heritage buildings which is located on the 1800 block of Broad Street. It was built back in 1929 and has been boarded up since the early 2000s.
Two aerial truck operators were seen on the north and west side of the building. Fire crews are expected to work well into Wednesday morning to control the blaze.
A lot of smoke can be seen for a brief moment out of windows/cracks in the building. Because of the high winds you can’t smell it #yqr pic.twitter.com/aV080BOamG
