Police are seeking a suspect after a hit and run in Regina early Thursday morning.
Regina police said officers saw a “suspicious automobile” near 5th Avenue and Angus Street around 12:45 a.m. Officers lost sight of the vehicle when it went down an alley. The vehicle was spotted again on the 900 block of Retallack Street.
Police said it was confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The driver allegedly drove away when officers approached on foot.
Officers were dispatched to 6th Avenue and Rae Street for a report of an accident minutes later. A vehicle – confirmed to be the one that evaded police – hit another vehicle, causing it to hit a light post.
Police said the suspect ran away, while the driver of the second vehicle – a 55-year-old man – was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries.
Police have described the suspect in the hit and run as a white man, approximately five feet ten inches tall, with a full beard. He was reportedly wearing an army camouflage jacket with black sleeves and a green toque.
