Get the broom out because the Toronto Blue Jays swept the Texas Rangers in the American League Division Series Sunday night at Rogers Centre.
The Jays won 7-6 with a Josh Donaldson slide into home plate in the 10th inning.
“Streamers just started flying everywhere when it happened,” said Dustin Robson, who was at Rogers Centre for the sweep. “The roof just blew off as random people were just hugging me and it was great.”
Not a surprise to most Jays fans in Saskatoon as they predicted the result in game two at the Canadian Brewhouse in Stonebridge.
“We got this series, Texas has no chance,” Jason Bourner said on Friday afternoon.
A sellout crowd of over 49,000 people poured out of the Rogers Centre afterwords, which is more than the population of Prince Albert S.K.
“Ton’s of chanting, tons of high-fiving, tons of people dancing on the pillars,” Robson said. “I was screaming like a little girl.”
But Jays fans were well behaved as no major incidents have been reported in Toronto.
The Jays now take on the winner between the Cleveland Indians and Boston Redsox’s, the Indians hold a 2-0 series lead in the other ALDS.
