Saskatoon police reported using a taser on a suspect early Monday morning.
The 27-year-old man is alleged to have punched an officer in the face after police arrived at a home on the 1100 block of Main Street for a call about a domestic dispute around 3:30 a.m.
Police said the officer tried to back off after being punched, but the suspect allegedly kept coming forward. At that point, the officer reportedly used the taser to subdue the man.
The suspect was taken to hospital after the weapon was used on him, in line with police policy. Police reported that they will be reviewing the incident.
The man has been charged with assaulting a peace officer. Police said he was due to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
