A Lumsden veterinary clinic has turned to social media after a case of animal abuse shook its staff.
In a Facebook post, TM’z Veterinary Clinic said RCMP rushed a small kitten to its facility after the animal was drenched in alcohol and lit on fire at Craven Country Jamboree Thursday.
“Very saddened by some events at Craven Country Jamboree,” the post started. “Animal cruelty to appease their drunk state should never be tolerated.”
The kitten reportedly wandered into the campgrounds, occupied by hundreds of people, at the annual music festival in Craven.
The community is located around 36 kilometres northwest of Regina.
The vet clinic said the kitten is being treated for burns and should make a full recovery.
A call to RCMP was not answered as of July 16.
