RCMP have charged a boy with several offences following an incident in Maidstone, Sask, where two schools were placed in hold-and-secure mode.
Maidstone High School and Ratushniak Elementary School were placed into hold-and-secure mode Tuesday morning after one of the schools became aware of a threat made to harm the school and some students.
The hold-and-secure began around 8:30 a.m. and was lifted at 11:45 a.m; shortly after, the suspect was taken into custody.
The boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with uttering threats, mischief, public mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and common nuisance.
He’s scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court Friday at 10 a.m.
