After a weekend book-ended with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Canadians are unlocking their charitable side and giving back.
Today marks “Giving Tuesday” a day when North Americans are encouraged to press pause on their holiday shopping and consider donating time or money to a worthy cause.
In Saskatoon the Royal University Hospital foundation is one of the organizations that use this day for their charity and they’re taking the campaign online, encouraging people to tweet, post and share #GivingWarmth to help them raise money for blanket warmers for the emergency room.
There are more than 4,000 groups registered with the Giving Tuesday website, including 28 in Saskatoon like the Lighthouse Assisted Living Centre and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.
