The City of Saskatoon is one step closer to having two new bridges built.
The three shortlisted proponents, Bridge City Infrastructure Group, Bridge City Partners, and Graham Commuter Partners, have sent in their technical submissions for the North Commuter Parkway Project and Traffic Bridge.
City council has already approved the city administration’s recommendation that the Traffic Bridge would include vehicles and have pathways on each side to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. The North Commuter Parkway Project will have six lanes that link the Marquis Industrial area with the University Heights area.
The project design parameters for the projects have been finalized. It is expected that a report will go to city council at the end of August to decide who should get the contract. The deadline for financial submissions is mid-August.
The successful contractor will have approximately 60 days to meet financial close.
A report will be brought back to city council at the end of October that will detail the financial details of the proposal. The final designs will be released to the public at this time.
