The man who terrified and robbed a senior in broad daylight near downtown Regina still has not been found.
The 80-year-old had her purse snatched from her walker as she was sitting on a bench outside her home enjoying the sunshine on Sunday, March 29 around 4:30 p.m.
Police have yet to identify the suspect who committed the theft on the 2100 block of McIntyre Street and are now asking the public for help.
He’s described as a tall, thin, 20 to 25-year-old man with a dark complexion, wearing a dark top, and black pants. The suspect had short black hair, a black beard and big white teeth and took off on a bicycle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6364 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
The public has already helped the senior, who was afraid to reveal her name or even venture outside her home after the incident. After hearing her story, News Talk Radio’s listeners raised $1,600 online via gofundme.com to replace the items she lost inside her purse. That included all her ID and her expensive reading glasses.
